Every facility is scored on a 100-point scale across four weighted categories: Reviews & Reputation (40 points, made up of Google star rating and review volume), Storage Type & Facility Quality (25 points, made up of storage protection type and surface/infrastructure quality), Amenities & Extras (20 points), and Security (15 points). Facilities are then ranked highest to lowest score within each metro area we cover.

The score combines objective, verifiable data rather than opinions: how facilities are rated and reviewed on Google, whether storage is enclosed, covered, or uncovered, whether the surface is paved or gravel, the level of on-site security and monitoring, and which amenities are available (dump stations, electrical hookups, wash bays, propane, and similar). No category is self-reported by the facility — everything is independently verified.

Star ratings and review counts come directly from Google Business Profiles for each facility. Storage type, surface condition, security features, and amenities are independently verified through facility websites, published photos, and on-site information rather than taken from facility self-reporting.

Rankings are refreshed periodically as facilities change, add amenities, or receive new reviews, with the most recent update date shown at the top of each city's rankings page. If you notice outdated information, use the correction request process below.

Enclosed storage means a fully walled garage-style unit; covered storage (sometimes called “premium covered” or “standard covered”) means a roof overhead without full walls; uncovered storage is an open outdoor parking spot with no overhead protection. Enclosed offers the most protection from weather and sun, followed by covered, then uncovered.

Ties happen when two or more facilities earn an identical total score across all four scoring categories. In that case, both facilities are shown at the same rank (for example, two facilities can both be ranked #1), and the next facility's rank reflects its position after the tie rather than skipping ahead by only one spot.

Yes. Each city's full rankings table includes filters for covered storage, enclosed storage, dump station access, electrical hookups (30/50 amp), 24/7 access, and security cameras, so you can narrow the list to facilities that meet your specific needs before comparing scores.

Use the city filter on the full rankings page for your metro area, or search by city name directly in the search bar at the top of the table. Each facility's row also shows its city and state so you can scan results by location.

Yes. Apply whatever filters and sorting you want, then use the “Export Results” button to download a CSV file of the currently filtered list, including scores, ratings, and amenities for each facility.

Each metro area has two views: a short “Top 10” page highlighting the highest-scoring facilities, and a “Full Rankings Database” page listing every single facility we analyzed in that area, filterable and sortable in full.

Yes, and we disclose this openly: Best RV Storage Rankings is maintained by an RV storage operator, and some of the facilities included in these rankings are ones we own and operate in the Phoenix, North Dallas, and South Dallas metro areas. Every facility, including our own, is scored using the exact same public, verifiable 100-point criteria, and no facility can pay for a higher score or placement. Because the criteria never change based on who owns a facility. Every property, including ours, is scored using the same publicly available inputs — Google ratings and review volume, storage protection type, amenities, and security features — and anyone can independently verify those inputs and reproduce our results. If our facilities score well, it's because they meet the same criteria applied to every competitor, not because we adjusted anything in our own favor.

We don't. This website and its rankings are purely informational — we don't run ads, use affiliate links, or charge facilities for placement or visibility. It's published as a resource for RV owners, not a revenue source.

Yes. If a facility's information has changed — new amenities, a renovation, a change in ownership, or an inaccurate detail — facility owners and managers can email us at info@best-rv-storage.com to request a review and update.

Facilities are added as we complete research on each metro area, so a facility may simply be in a market we haven't published yet, or may have been missed in our initial research pass. Email us at info@best-rv-storage.com with the facility name and address and we'll look into adding or verifying it.
